Freehold plots require a permit/certificate from the parent Dorp (fase 3) or higher node in order to place the plot. This is unlocked via a quest.[1][2][3][4]
- Freehold plots may then be placed within predetermined parcels of land in the node's ZOI.[1] Previously it was stated that the placement of freeholds can be anywhere in the ZOI of the Dorp (fase 3) or higher node that the certificate was purchased from, including its vassal nodes, providing the freehold is not in close proximity to any of the following:[2][5][4]
- Pathing routes (Roadways).[4]
- Dungeons and other points of interest (POIs) regardless of advancement.[2][4]*[6][7]
- Events spawn areas.[4]
- Other freehold plots.[4]
- Hard terrain features, such as mountainsides or cliffs.[8]
- Depending on where you achieved- where you procured the certificate from, as long as it is either in the parent or the vassal area, it could be a part of either. You give that declaration when you lay down the freehold. But like I said, that may change because we are actively defining a different approach on some of the vassal systems.[5] – Steven Sharif
- Collections of freeholds placed in close proximity are still considered part of their parent node and do not become a separate node, other than via roleplay.[11]
